Broward Housing Solutions Raises More Than $125,000 at ‘Raising the Roof’ Event
Using a fun, construction theme and honoring heavy-hitter community leaders who have touched the lives of mental health consumers, the “Raising the Roof” fundraising benefiting Broward Housing Solutions brought in more than $125,000 to the non-profit organization.
“This event always attracts a huge crowd, because we honor deserving community leaders who make a difference by supporting our efforts to improve the lives of the mental health consumers we serve,” said Nancy L. Merolla, President/CEO of Broward Housing Solutions. “Our supporters have told us they also love this event because it is casual and always has a really fun theme.”
This year, the 350 guests who attended the event enjoyed the “Raising the Roof” construction theme, complete with hard hats for each guest, paint-can centerpieces, yellow caution tape, orange reflective cones and road barricades. The décor was complimented by the tunes of Bobby and the Bulldozers, a huge silent auction, excellent food and a relaxed atmosphere. The worthy honorees recognized at the event also made the event special.
At the “Raising the Roof” event at Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six Resort & Spa, Broward Housing Solutions honored Broward County Commissioner Diana Wasserman-Rubin, Florida Substance Abuse and Mental Health Corporation Secretary Rocky Rodriguez and LXR Luxury Resorts. Each honoree has provided valuable assistance to Broward Housing Solutions, a non-profit organization that provides quality housing opportunities to meet the needs of lower income persons with mental illness in Broward County.
