Winterfest Winner’s Circle Salutes the Best of the Best
FORT LAUDERDALE,  BROWARD COUNTY, FL –  The Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade honored its parade and shoreline participants at a recent awards dinner hosted by the Greater Fort Lauderdale Broward County Convention Center. Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour with complimentary drinks from Southern Wine & Spirits, and entertainment by J-Productions. A three-piece band entertained guests in a surrounding of red carpet and a slideshow of the award-winning decorations.
Highlights of the evening included the Extreme Decorating Home Award given to Dr. William and Shawn Zenga and the People’s Choice Awards for the boats: Toys in the Sun Run   - South Florida President’s Council and for the homes a tie between The Zenga family and the Montenegro family. Winterfest also extended the Winner’s Circle presentation to include Light Up Lauderdale to honor decorated homes and businesses around the New River.
       Along with the decorated boats and homes, some of the people that made
 the parade a memorable event for all were also honored. A few of the honorees
were Charlie Kornahrens and Mike Petrie for their work on the Broadway Barge
and Floating Ice Skating Rink. John Muir was also honored for being
responsiblefor 6 separate entries with over 20 vessels in the parade. Jim
McKinley was also honored for going above and beyond to participate in this
year’s parade.
