“Little Black Dress and Pearls” 1000+ Club Kicks Off
the 2012 Women of the Year Luncheon and Presents the Inaugural Charitable Giving Grants
1000+ Club Has Plenty To Be Proud Of In 2011!
The Penthouse Ballroom was filled with little black dresses adorned with pearls on October 20th at the B Ocean Hotel to celebrate the Kick Off of the 2012 Women of the Year Luncheon andthe presentation of the Inaugural Charitable Giving Grants.
Noel Brown and Ilona Osinski chaired the beautiful and successful event. Pink Champagne flowed with floating tapioca pearls and pink cotton candy. The attendees enjoyed the group photos with their friends courtesy of Photo Mingle. The room was adorned with Ivory roses and organza and pearl table cloths compliments of Over the Top Linens and Medallion Occasions Boutique. Rusty Smith, General Manager and Jonie Sabo, Public Relations Director of Neiman Marcus Fort Lauderdale brought the elegance of the their store with beautiful models wearing the latest of fall fashion trends and a wonderful “Boutique” of the seasons “must haves.” The audio/visual was generously underwtitten by PSAV.
The Charitable Giving Grant Committee was chaired by Paula Valad. The committee members were Julie Osinski Burk, Debbie Dolchin, Carole Falkanger Gemma Pressinger and Gina Stelnik. A total of $170,00.00 was distributed to five Broward County Organizations providing cancer care and education. The Grant recipients were: Broward Health Foundation/By My Side Project; Gilda’s Club - South Florida/Gilda’s Extreme Makeover Project; Holy Cross Hospital Inc./Partners in Breast Health Project; Jessica June Children’s Cancer Foundation/Emergency Financial Assistance - Families in Crisis Enduring Pediatric Cancer Project and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation, Inc./Love Jen Fund Project.
The “Pearls of the Season” Membership Luncheon will be held on December 1st at the Riverside Hotel on Las Olas Boulevard at 11 a.m. Announcement of the 14 organizations that have been selected as Women of the Year Organizations and their honorees will be announced. The luncheon will be chaired by Carole Falkanger, Gina Stelnik and Karola Woodworth. The Women of the Year Luncheon “Pearls of Promise” will be held on April 4, 2012 at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort and Spa, Fort Lauderdale. The Chairs Kathy Eggleston, Julie Osinski Burk and Jennifer Tallow have been working all summer on the exciting event.

The purpose of the 1000+ Club is to provide money, collected through fundraising and membership contributions to selected non-profit cancer organizations in Broward County, Florida. The application process for the next cycle of grants will run from June 1st to August 1st, 2012
