Swing for Kids' Sake Golf Tournament a BIG Success for Broward County
$45,000 Raised for Big Brothers Big Sisters &
Hole-In-One Camry Winner
Miami Dolphins alumni Shawn Wooden & Ki-Jana Carter hosted Swing for Kids' Sake, a charity golf tournament, raising $45,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County. But the local nonprofit wasn't the only winner of the day! For the first time ever at Deer Creek Golf Club, there was a hole-in-one prize winner. David Knightly of Southern Auto Finance Company walked away with a 2011 Toyota Camry, courtesy of JM Family Enterprises.
In addition to the big win during the afternoon of golf, MetroPCS hosted an on-course poker challenge, with the best hand winning a 4GLTE Samsung Galaxy Indulge and three months servicee. Participants enjoyed dinner, raffle prizes, awards and a silent auction. All proceeds from the event provide childreevent was a huyge succn facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentorship relationships with a caring adult.
"The event was a huge success," says Big Brothers Big Sisters CEO Ana Cedeno. "It was made even more meaningful having our co-chairs speak of the personal impact Big Brothers Big Sisters has had on their lives, including Ki-Jana's experience as a Little Brother. We are thrilled to have the support of our community so we can work collectively to help more children achieve success in life."
The funds raised at Swing for Kids' Sake will create, manage and sustain 40 mentoring relationships in Broward County.
