When I stepped through the front door of the Miami Children’s Museum, it was like entering a fantasyland. Guests were greeted by Cinderella and her Prince Charming . Each guest was given the chance to have a photo taken in front of Cinderella's beautiful horse drawn drawn carriage by Claude Zick, Photographer.
Everywhere I looked there were beautiful pink roses in vases leading all the gala attendees down a path to a delightful evening of food served by Mena Catering, drinks, wonderful story-land characters and music.
The First Floor feasts in Kidscape Village provided guests with Pinocchio’s bread and cheeses; Beauty and the Beast's bouillabaisse soup served in scallop shells; Robin Hood & His Merry Men served Round of Roast Beef, Herb Scented Loin of Pork; Goldilocks & The Three Bears served Bar B Q Pulled Pork & Southern Fried Chicken Morsels and just down the way The Little Mermaid provided guests with Chile Seasoned Sea Scallops, Oysters Rockefeller, and Popcorn Shrimp.
The Second Floor Carnival Cruise Line hosted by Peter Pan & Captain Hook served Herb Foccaccia Sandwiches, Grilled Cheese Sandwiches w/Tomato Soup in Sake Cups. Not to be out done, Aladdin in the Sandcastle served Pita Wedges of Rosemary, Scented Leg of Lamb w/Tzatziki Sauce, Feta, Basil, Sundried Tomato and Walnut Torte with Lavosh Hearts Hummus, Taramasalata & Tabbouleh, and, in the World Music Gallery guests feasted on Mandarin Glazed hicken tossed with Soba Noodles, Bamboo Shoots, Water Chestnuts, Tri-colored Peppers and Straw Mushrooms.
Libations provided by Bacardi, Pepsi, Southern Wine &Spirits & Premiere Beverage Company included Champagne Cocktails, beer, wine and specialty drinks.
Music was everywhere with guests being greeted by Trumpeteers at the Front Entrance, Belly Dancers w/Arabic musicians in the flower strewn hallways, Accordian Player in Kidscape Village; Steel Drums in Sea & Me, Harpist in Auction Room, and, for those who didn't want the evening to end a DJ in Belle’s Ballroom from Beauty and the Beast, decorated in true nightclub style, provided lively music, where guests could go to dance the night away.
Sensational Sandcastle Sweets provided Chocolate Truffles, Dulce de Leche Rollatini, Cheesecake Fritters, Palmiers, Chocolate Bread Pudding, Fruit Flambee Bar w/Vanilla Ice Cream and a Chocolate Fountain generously donated by Schokolad Chocolate Factory completed the evening.
