Morton’s The Steakhouse Celebrates Fort Lauderdale Grand Opening
with Fundraiser for Broward Public Library Foundation
Morton’s The Steakhouse recently celebrated the grand opening of its new location in Fort Lauderdale by hosting more than 400 invited guests to a special evening benefiting the Broward Public Library Foundation. The restaurant held a silent auction that raised more than $7,000 for the organization, which enhances the collections, programs and services of Broward County Library beyond the means of public funding.
“We are excited to welcome Morton’s to the community,” said George Platt, Chairman of the Broward Public Library Foundation Board of Directors. “The evening featured good friends, delicious food and fine wines, and Morton’s provided us with the perfect platform to raise money for a worthy cause.”
Preceding the grand opening party, Morton’s welcomed Fort Lauderdale Mayor Jim Naugle, Broward County Mayor Stacy Ritter and Broward Public Library Foundation Executive Director Dorothy Klein to a ceremonial ribbon cutting for the restaurant’s sixth location in South Florida.
“We are delighted to have members of the Broward Public Library Foundation share in the opening of our new Fort Lauderdale restaurant,” said Michael Savitt, general manager of the Fort Lauderdale restaurant. “Morton’s is committed to supporting its community.”
Renowned from coast to coast for its signature menu and legendary hospitality, the Fort Lauderdale Morton’s continues to follow the company’s tradition of serving only the finest quality foods, featuring USDA prime aged, grain-fed beef, fresh fish and seafood, choice produce and a selection of delicious appetizers and elegant desserts – prepared to perfection and served in a lively atmosphere.
