“3rd Annual Shades of Pink”
Next In Line hosted Annual Fundraiser to benefit
The Florida Breast Cancer Coalition Research Foundation
Next in Line, a networking organization for young professionals in South Florida, hosted the 3rd annual “Shades of Pink” fundraiser, Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Mansion in Miami Beach. The event was a success, attracting young professionals, breast cancer supporters, advocates and survivors, and yielding over $4,000 for the Florida Breast Cancer Coalition Research Foundation (FBCCRF).
“We are very grateful for Next in Line and all the sponsors who made this great event possible,” said James Konschnik, FBCCRF CEO. “This event means so much to the Foundation and it has become an important component in our source of funding to continue breast cancer research and education in Florida.”
The fundraiser featured a spectacular fashion show presented by Saks Fifth Avenue Dadeland, where the real heroes of the night, the breast cancer survivors, took to stage for the finale. Kiki Valdez, a local artist, entertained the crowed by creating a work of art during the event, which was auctioned off along with other great items in a silent auction. Guests enjoyed food and drinks, including a sweet surprise from Donut Divas, which prepared hot and fresh mini donuts throughout the night.
“Tonight was a very special night, which we look forward to all year,” said Christina Alvarez, president of the Board for Next in Line. “Our annual fundraiser for the Foundation is one of the highlights of our organization and this year was again a great success for everyone.”
