"While all of us may travel to the beat of a different drum, we all are united in our love for the Symphony of the Americas."
"Like a special child, we have watched the Symphony grow and resonate in the community. We have nurtured it with our love and support. We have seen it mature from being a small regional symphony to a major player on the on the world stage."
"Tonight is the 20th Anniversary of the Symphony. It is a musical milestone made possible by the talented leadership of our Artistic Director, James Brooks-Bruzzese, and the indefatigable stewarship of our Executive Director, Renee La Bonte."
"We commemorate this occasion with our Mary Porter "Panama Nights" Gala.
"My wonderful committee has worked tirelessly and so many sponsors have given generously to make this evening a very special one."
"We invite you to enjoy the food, to enjoy each other's company, but most of all to enjoy the music of the night"
"And if the past is prologue to the future, then our community can expect many more wonderful years of memorable music from the Symphony of the Americas."
Carole Nugent, Gala Chairman
The night was indeed spectacular with the music of the Symphony of the Americas led by Artistic Director, James Brooks-Bruzzese. The program consisted of Panama National Anthem, The United States National Anthem, Blue Tango with guest conductor, Madelyn Savarick, Panama Hattie Overture, Make it Another Old Fashioned Please, performed by guest singer, Beth Holland; the Blue Danube Waltz and Highlights from Les Miserables, and special performance by the Folkloric Dancers - dressed in the beauty of traditional Panamania costumes.
