Riverwalk Get Downtown Nets Riverwalk Trust over $19,000
Fort Lauderdale, FL –Riverwalk Trust recently hosted Riverwalk Get Downtown, Fort Lauderdale’s largest outdoor cocktail hour, offering the best Flavors of Fort Lauderdale from 17 local restaurants and bars in the courtyard Plaza at Las Olas Place, 333 E. Las Olas Blvd on Friday, Apr 4. The event netted over $19,000 for the Riverwalk Trust, a non-profit organization that serves as a catalyst in building and nurturing a vibrant community centered along the New River.
Approximately 1,500 attendees enjoyed bites from America’s Backyard, Big City Tavern, Briny Riverfront, The Chef’s Table, Grille Room on Las Olas and Indigo, Kilwin’s, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Off the Hookah, Pizza Fusion, Riley McDermott’s, Samba Room, Stork’s Las Olas, Sublime, Timpano Chophouse & Martini Bar, Tommy’s Las Olas, Tower Club and YOLO. Awards were given to Tower Club for Best Overall, Riley McDermott’s for Best Presentation, Kilwin’s for Best Sweets, YOLO for Best Customer Service, and for the second year, Big City Tavern for Best Bites.
Guests sipped wines from Barefoot Wines, beer from Land Shark Lager and margaritas by Cazadores Tequila and Finest Call Margarita Mix. Local band Superstuff performed live, and Love 94 kept the party going between sets.
Attendees registered to win a two-night stay at the newly renovated Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six Resort & Spa.
Major supporters included Stiles Corporation, Boca Developers, Florida Medical Center, 360° Catering and Exchange Lofts, and radio support was provided by Love 94. Many local professional groups and support organizations assisted Riverwalk Trust in promotion of the event, such as Emerge Broward, Benefactors Advancing Covenant House, Young Professionals for Covenant House, Broward County Gator Club, Jessica June Children’s Cancer Foundation, PetSet and Take Stock in Children.
“Riverwalk Get Downtown was a huge success,” said Riverwalk Trust President/CEO Patsy Mennuti. “With the funds raised through this event, we can continue to invest in Fort Lauderdale’s Downtown and Riverwalk areas. Our goal is to encourage employees and residents to spend time Downtown and celebrate Downtown businesses, employees and residents who contribute to its success.”
The event is produced by and benefits the Riverwalk Trust. Perhaps best known for the successful Signature Brick Program (over 25,000 sold), the Riverwalk Trust serves as the catalyst in building and nurturing Riverwalk as a vibrant community connected by the New River. Riverwalk Trust accomplishes this mission through advocacy, communication, events, membership and marketing activities. The Riverwalk Trust is currently pursuing projects to enhance and protect the integrity of the Riverwalk community, such as uniform design guidelines for thoughtful development, funding for capital improvements and park enhancements, ongoing activities for visitors and Riverwalk Park completion.
