Riverwalk Trust’s Eighth Annual Riverwalk Tribute Honoring the
Downtown Development Authority Nets $60K

(FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.) - The Riverwalk Trust celebrated the Downtown Development Authority of Fort Lauderdale (DDA) at the eighth annual Riverwalk Tribute event and VIP cocktail reception on March 6.  The event raised almost $60,000 for the Riverwalk Trust.
Since its creation in 1965 to revitalize blighted portions of the Downtown, the state-chartered DDA has played crucial roles in shaping the area’s quality of life and business climate. It serves as a redevelopment agency, a special taxing district, a marketing organization, and facilitator among various private and governmental entities involved in and with the Downtown.  The vitality and energy of Downtown’s bustling financial district and its many cultural, educational and entertainment amenities are tangible testimony to the vision and effectiveness of the DDA’s governing boards throughout past decades.
The event, held at the River House Restaurant, included a silent auction and balloon raffle with prizes totaling over $32,000. Exquisite food, sensational spirits, and festive entertainment delighted guests as they mingled along the historic New River in the Riverwalk Trust’s signature annual social event. Attendees enjoyed unique wine and food pairings courtesy of Premier Beverage with cocktails by Bombay Sapphire designed to complement the evening’s cuisine. Each guest took home a delectable event favor provided by ReallyGoodCookies.com.
