Riverwalk Get Downtown Presented by Boca Developers
Nets Riverwalk Trust $20,000
Fort Lauderdale, FL –Riverwalk Trust recently hosted Riverwalk Get Downtownpresented by Boca Developerson Friday, Nov. 9, in the courtyard Plaza at Las Olas Place, 333 E. Las Olas Blvd. The event raised $20,000 for the Riverwalk Trust.
Approximately 1,200 attendees enjoyed bites from The Chef’s Table, Grill Room on Las Olas, Big City Tavern, Tommy’s Las Olas, Stork’s Café, Tarpon Bend, Metro Café, Really Good Cookies, Pizza Fusion, Downtowner Saloon, Off the Hookah and Kilwin’s. Awards were given to Tommy’s Las Olas for Best Overall, Big City Tavern for Best Bites and Stork’s Las Olas for Best Sweets during the first ever Best of Riverwalk Get Downtown food contest.
Guests sipped drinks from Premier Beverage’s Volta Vodka and Barefoot Wines, Stephens Distributing’s Land Shark Lager and Nespresso Pro’s espressos and cappuccinos. Local band Superstuff performed live, and Love 94 kept the party going between sets.
Attendees registered to win a one-night stay, a choice of two spa treatments at Spa 66 and dinner and wine pairing for two at a special “Chef's Table,” located at the newly renovated Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six.
Radio support was provided by Love 94, and major supporters of the event were Stiles Corporation and Regions Bank. Many local professional groups and support organizations assisted Riverwalk Trust in promotion of the event, including the Humane Society of Broward County, Emerge Broward, Benefactors Advancing Covenant House, Young Professionals for Covenant House, Fort Lauderdale Historical Society Young Professionals, Orbis, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Broward County Gator Club, Take Stock in Children and Jessica June Children’s Cancer Foundation.
“The Fall Riverwalk Get Downtown was a huge success,” said Riverwalk Trust Executive Director Patsy Mennuti. “With the funds raised through this event, we can continue to invest in Fort Lauderdale’s Downtown and Riverwalk areas. Our goal is to encourage employees and residents to spend time Downtown and celebrate Downtown businesses, employees and homeowners who contribute to its success.”
The event is produced by and benefits the Riverwalk Trust. Perhaps best known for the successful Signature Brick Program (over 24,000 sold), the Riverwalk Trust serves as the catalyst in building and nurturing Riverwalk as a vibrant community connected by the New River. Riverwalk Trust accomplishes this mission through advocacy, communication, events, membership and marketing activities. The Riverwalk Board is currently pursuing projects to enhance and protect the integrity of the Riverwalk community, such as uniform design guidelines for thoughtful development, funding for capital improvements and park enhancements, ongoing activities for visitors and Riverwalk Park completion.
