American Cancer Society’s Annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer This 5K walk raises money for breast cancer research, education and patient services throughout Broward County. Over 300 teams representing cancer survivors, their families and friends, volunteers, corporate business teams including hospitals, schools and law firms participated. presented by JM Family Enterprises, Inc. hosted more than 3,500 walkers and expects to raise well over $375,000.

WHY:                    In Florida alone, breast cancer will strike 11,700 women this year, and more than 2,700 women in Florida will die of breast cancer. Breast cancer will strike more than 200,000 times this year and claim more than 40,000 lives. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event gives people the opportunity to demonstrate their resolve to wipe out the disease and increase awareness.
