FORT LAUDERALE, FL (August 8, 2007) – Chima Steakhouse, (pronounced “She-ma”), an elegant steakhouse offering a most unique and elegant fine dining experience, hosted Michael Irvin’s Hall of Fame Celebration on Tuesday, August 7th which raised more than $50,000 for the PlayMaker Charities and Foundation, Inc.
More than 275 guests dined on authentic Brazilian Barbeque, enjoyed signature cocktails and had the opportunity to participate in a live and silent auction. The big auction item of the night was a stunning Giantto men’s timepiece courtesy of Levinson Jewelers in Plantation. The exquisite piece was sold to Frank Telerico for $6,500. Telerico also bid $3,250 to win a dinner for four at Chima Steakhouse with special dining guest Michael Irvin. Additional auction items included an autographed University of Miami football jersey and a Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2007 football. The live and silent auction helped raise more than $16,800 for PlayMaker Charities and Foundation, Inc.
Special guests of the evening included fellow Hall of Famers Larry Little, Dwight Stephenson, Lawrence Taylor and other pro-athletes Grantis Bell, Charles “Gator” Bennett, Cornelius Bennett, Bimbo Coles, Jeff Cross, Reggie Givens, Mark Higgs and Dwayne White. Other VIP guests included Broward County Mayor Josephus Eggelletion, Jr. and State Representative Perry Thurston.
