Polly Wilkie retired as V. President of Community Bank of Broward, and she has been running Prestige for fifteen years.  Her dream was to make Prestige so well known that even after she is gone it will continue.  

Prestige Club is a not for profit 501c (3) organization, established in 1996.  Its purpose is to encompass a networking group of business leaders and help promote their services and skills to the community while at the same time organizing various fundraising, charity, and educational events towards the advancement of people less fortunate. Prestige is an organization that offers love, compassion, support, and assistance to families and children in need. At the present time, Prestige sponsors over twenty-one different non-profit organizations in Broward County that assists towards the growth and development of our society.

Mrs. Wilkie at age seventy five has accomplished twenty one projects this last year and will probably by pass that for 2012.   Below are a few of her accomplishments.

Going back to when you first started with your organization to now, what has been your proudest personal accomplishment?  Helping over 5,000 kids a year assisting 28 agencies for a day of fun at a picnic so that the kids can forget all their problems.

What do you enjoy the most about your work?  Helping others

Do you have a mentor; someone who has been there to guide you or consult with you when you needed their input?   NO

What program with your organization do you get the most excited about?  All of them

How did you determine which charitable organizations you would support?  I started my own:  Prestige

What is your greatest strength(s) that makes you such an asset to your organization?  Be able to communication my passion

What is your greatest challenge at this time?  Money

What is the most important thing you have learned through the years?  To show love to everyone

How do you relax?  Planning another fundraiser

 What do you wish you could have a never-ending supply of?  Money  

If you found a treasure chest – and you could keep it, what would you want to be in it?   Money for children

How can we reach out to other people in the world?  Compassion

Is there a fond childhood memory you can share with us?  NO!

When you were a little girl, what did you say you wanted to be when you grew up?  I did not want to be hungry any more

What is your vision and hope for the future?  Go to heaven

What do you think is the biggest problem we are facing in this country today?
People do not know how to read  

How do you want to be remembered by future generations?  A person with compassion for animals and children

Founding of Prestige Club, being a humanitarian, the creation of the Nova Southeastern University Scholarship.

What is your fondest childhood memory?  None

What is something your parents taught you that you will never forget?  Nothing

What is your idea of a perfect vacation?  Costa Rica and/or Vegas

What’s been the key to the success and growth of ----------?  My dedication and compassion

How do you stay so motivated and committed?  Passion

When does someone know when it’s time to move on?  When it does not work

What are your favorite leisure time activities or hobbies?    Fundraising

What is your favorite sport?  Basketball

Do you feel women have made progress in their quest to be treated fairly and equally in the workplace?  Yes, but it still needs work

How does the “seasoned” woman compete in a marketplace that is focused on looking and being young?  I think the day I wrote my book

What is your pet peeve?  People who do not tell the truth, and are mean to kids or animals

What can make you laugh?   Anything

What is your greatest strength?   Putting people together to try to make a difference

What is your greatest weakness?  Children & Animals

What are you most disciplined about?  A drive and passion for the success of the Prestige Club

What is something you have learned from a pet?  Unconditional love

If you were going to be on a Space Shuttle for about a year, what one item would you have to take with you?  My dog

What is your favorite snack?   Ice cream

What is your biggest fear?   Dying and not completing my bucket list

What do you like the most about yourself?   I help others

What’s in the future for -----? Making The Prestige Club HUGE so it goes on and on after I pass!

What would you still like to learn how to do?  Dance

What do you have to say to all the young women/men out there ready to take on the future?    Always be compassionate and always remember where you came from
How do we get our young people more interested in charitable giving and community volunteering?   I think it needs to start at a very young age.  You have to teach kids how to give back to the community and how to fundraise.

How do you want to be remembered by future generations?  Helping Children

What would you like to see happen in our world, let’s say, five years from now?  No hunger, no violence and nobody suffering

What is the greatest problem we are facing in this country today?  Greed

What can we personally do to make things better for future generations?  Show a little more compassion and love
