Going back to when you first started with your organization to now, what has been your proudest personal accomplishment? FOR MG -‘Seeing our girls totally immersed in giving back and exper. That joy — Ira-national recognition by Angels in Adoption-Washington DC

 

What do you enjoy the most about your work? Sense of accomplishment in helping other kinship families – some in desperate situations!

Do you have a mentor; someone who has been there to guide you or consult with you when you needed their input? Gia Tutalo Mote founder of Forever Family who took Bella’s Group under her “wings”

You are out in the public arena quite; who is the most interesting person you have ever met? Nan Rich for both of us- She is always there for kids and families in need

What program with your organization do you get the most excited about? The huge Holiday Party at Nan Knox Boys and Girls Club in December in Ft. Laud-100 kids attend!

How did you determine which charitable organizations you would support? We both like to see where exactly the money is going!

Is there a charitable event(s) you really look forward to attending each year? Marietta has cochairmen the Amererica. Lung Assoc-Breathe Free Lunch each year for 8 years! Also Thomas McCormick Scholarship Boat Parade Party at Nuccia McCormick’s each holiday season!

How have things changed for you through the years? We both need less as years go by!

What is your greatest strength(s) that makes you such an asset to your organization? Marietta-Ira says responding to greatest needs in our community!

What is your greatest challenge at this time? Trying to change the child care system-putting Childrens needs and safety first !

What is your idea of perfect happiness?  We both have it!

What is the most important thing you have learned through the years?  Ira says “do not believe everything you read in the newspaper”!

How do you relax? We both love fishing and boating.

 Do you have a favorite vacation spot? We both love Italy.

If you found a treasure chest – and you could keep it, what would you want to be in it? Lots of years of good health!!

What can make you laugh?  We both love the Golden Girls and of course we love animals!

What can make you cry? Abused and neglected children!

Are you where you hoped you would be at this point in your life? Yes!

Is there a fond childhood memory you can share with us? Ira-fishing with his dad-Marietta-Italian dinners on Sunday with the whole family!

How do you want to be remembered by future generations?  Caring people who made a difference!

What do your want your epitaph to read? Marietta-my friends say “She really Moved” - Someone who made a difference - says Ira

Who is the most interesting person you have ever met?  Nan Rich

What word best describes your life right now?  Perfect but hectic

 

What charitable organizations are you involved with at this time? American Lung Assoc- Royal Dames- Kids-Handy-Childrens Services Council- Pantry of Broward-Women in Distress-Healthy Mothers-Health Babies-1000+ to benefit Cancer-Fla. Youth Orchestra

What is something your parents taught you that you will never forget? Giving back is so important-

Who is your hero?  Ira is my hero for sure-For Ira it was his mentor Dr. Claggett-Mayo Clinic-

What’s the best movie you have ever seen? Sleepless in Seattle

What is your most treasured possession? Our family!

What is your greatest indulgence? Ira chocolate- Marietta Red wine (one glass)

What is your favorite store for clothes shopping? Love all our Ft Lauderdale Boutiques!

If your house was up for sale, and a potential buyer did a walk through, what would your home say about you? This is a family home with a great pool patio!

What is your pet peeve? People who are unorganized!

If there were a movie being made about your life, what actor/actress would best play you?  Marietta-Sandra Bullock- Ira -  Ben Kinsley

What is a moment you will never forget? Moment we met and fell in love and got married!

What is something you have learned from a pet? Unconditional love!

What is your favorite Ice Cream flavor? Chocolate

What do you have to say to all the young women/men out there ready to take on the future?  Go for it!
