Sunflower Circle of Friends Hosts Second Annual Mother’s Day Brunch Benefiting Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center
The beautiful Marriott’s Harbor Beach Resort, Ocean View Terrace, was the scene of the 2nd Annual Sunflower Circle of Friends Mother’s Day Brunch on Saturday, May 8. The Sunflower Circle of Friends is a resource support group of the Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center (CDTC). All proceeds from the event support the Patient Centered Primary Care Clinic at CDTC.
Nearly 200 guests began the day with a splendid champagne brunch while a quartet of students from American Heritage entertained with a repertoire of classical music. Susie Perlman, Chair of the Sunflower Circle of Friends, welcomed everyone and thanked the event sponsors: William Spencer, Concrete Reinforcing Products, King Jewelers, bplatinum, Audrey Millsaps, Susie and Michael Perlman and Stewart and Carolyn Wechsler.
The highlight of the morning was the Children’s Fashion Show, presented by Flora Ottimer Children’s Boutique. Christina Loren of Channel 4 News was the Mistress of Ceremonies.
Dr. Susan M. Widmayer, founder and Executive Director of Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center, presented Mrs. Danielle Hyman with the “CDTC Mother of the Year” award for exemplifying a mother’s unconditional love.
This elegant affair culminated with a special performance by The Lyric Orchestra, under the artistic direction of Franco Bertacci. Guests enjoyed a variety of music from Mozart to Gershwin.
